Who we are
Especially Education (“we,” “us”) runs the website https://especiallyeducation.com. Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected].
Information we collect
Contact form. When you use our contact form, we collect the information you enter, such as your name, email address and message. We use it only to respond to you. Messages are delivered to our email account, which is hosted by Google Workspace.
Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address (and name, if provided) to send you updates and resources. Our list is managed by a third-party email service provider. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
Comments. When you leave a comment, we collect the information in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser user agent. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it (Gravatar privacy policy). Once your comment is approved, your profile picture and comment are publicly visible.
Spam protection. We use Akismet (by Automattic) to filter spam from comments and contact form submissions. Your submission, IP address and browser information are sent to Akismet for this purpose (Akismet privacy).
Automatically collected information. Our hosting provider may log basic technical information, such as IP addresses and browser types, for security and performance. Our site may also load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and shares your IP address with Google (Google privacy policy).
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies so you don’t have to enter them again. These cookies last one year. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Teachers Pay Teachers and other links
Our resources are sold through Teachers Pay Teachers (TpT). When you follow a link to TpT and make a purchase, the transaction happens on their website and is governed by TpT’s privacy policy. We do not receive or store your payment information.
Our posts may include embedded content, such as videos, and links or share buttons for sites like Pinterest. Those sites may collect data about you and use their own cookies, as if you visited them directly.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to respond to messages, send newsletters you’ve signed up for, display and moderate comments, keep the site secure and improve our content. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run the site, our email and our newsletter. These are WP Engine (hosting), Google Workspace (email), Akismet (spam filtering) and our email newsletter provider. We may also share it when required by law.
How long we keep it
Contact form messages are kept in our email for as long as needed to respond to you and for our records. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely, so follow-up comments can be approved automatically.
Your rights
You can ask us to send you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or to correct or delete it. Email [email protected]. We may keep some data if we have to for legal or security reasons.
Children
This site is intended for teachers, parents and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
