Snowmen at Night (Especially Education)

November 15, 2016

Books Teachers LoveWhile I am a big lover of Christmas and all things Santa, I wanted to keep my December read aloud on the holiday neutral side. I am so happy I stumbled upon “Snowmen at Night”!

Great Read Alouds for December

Snowmen at Night

Both the clever illustrations and silly, rhyming story line kept the students laughing throughout the entire book.

What better way to introduce a snowman story than sensory snow? Best of all? This snow only uses 2 ingredients and cleanup is easy with just water!

2 Ingredient Sensory Snow

In a big bowl or container, pour in 1 cup white conditioner with 3 cups baking soda. Mix the two ingredients together with your hands until it is the consistency of mashed potatoes.

Easy Sensory Snow: Baking Soda + Conditioner

Being from Texas, snow is a rare occurrence. The kids loved squishing this faux snow into snowballs and stacking them to make snowmen.

Your new snow skills will mix perfectly with the Made For Me Literacy All About Snow unit.
