Stitch Fix: Taking the Headache out of Clothing Shopping For Teachers

March 15, 2019

Ever since I can remember, I have hated shopping for clothes. As a child, back-to-school shopping meant loading up into my mom’s minivan and venturing the three-hour drive to the nearest mall. (Yes, three hours ONE WAY). My loathing of the mall and shopping centers has carried with me into adulthood. Sure, online shopping has helped some, but navigating the ever-changing world of women’s fashion is daunting.

When I was asked to try out a month of Stitch Fix, I jumped at the offer. With glowing reviews from customers, the convenience of this monthly clothing subscription has taken the Internet by storm. Click here to waive your $20 styling fee!

After completing an online Style Profile, your Stitch Fix Personal Stylist will send you a curated selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories depending on your style preferences and budget. Your Style Profile also gives your personal stylist insight about your sizes, measurements, preferred fits, cuts, and styles. They even ask you about prints and colors they should avoid!

Each month (or every couple weeks, depending on your preference), Stitch Fix will send you five new items to try on at your house. Goodbye dressing room lighting, hello comfort of my own home!

Pink windbreaker, blue jeans, striped sweater, and blue sneakers from Stitch Fix are perfect for busy teachers

You get to keep what you love and send the rest back in the provided pre-paid envelope. Honestly, Stitch Fix takes out most of the headache associated with clothing shopping. They also send a helpful style pairing guide, which is like a mini Pinterest board for all the pieces you received.

Stitch-Fix-Style Sheet

I wish I had Stitch Fix my first year of teaching. I struggled transitioning my wardrobe from my college internship to the professional working world. In college, most of my outfits were picked from the clearance rack at Forever 21 and consisted of multi-purpose pieces (think: student teaching by day, happy hour by night). Sure, I could layer up with cardigans, but the quality wasn’t meant to last a semester of teaching.

If you’re a first-year teacher (or even a veteran teacher!) Stitch Fix is the perfect way to build up your teacher closet with quality, stylish outfits. Whether you’re looking for an entirely new wardrobe, or some key seasonal pieces, Stitch Fix has you covered! Bonus, many of these pieces transition from the classroom into the real world perfectly!

Waive your styling fee and get your first Stitch Fix scheduled today!
