Hands-On Activities That Make Learning Stick

This unit includes 20 interactive classroom activities that combine creativity with structure—perfect for students who thrive on routine with a little fun mixed in.

From a giraffe writing craft and silly monkey stories to paper plate flamingos and a hippo directed drawing, every week is packed with engaging ways to learn through play. You’ll also find sensory activities like a Zoo Animal Ice Rescue, visual recipes like Elephant Bread and Giraffe Cookies, and class graphs to spark group conversations.

Centers That Support Independence

With 20 differentiated centers, your students will build literacy and math skills while practicing independence.

There are task boxes for vocabulary, counting, and skip counting by 5s; file folders for animal patterns, sentence building, CVCe words, and even bar graphs. Students can explore animal habitats with clip cards or complete their own “At the Zoo” flip-and-write book. Each center is designed to be easy to prep, easy to use, and easy to love.

Skill Practice That Reinforces Learning

The unit includes 16 skill practice worksheets that align with the week’s lessons—great for morning work, assessments, or sub plans. These print-and-go pages help reinforce new vocabulary, writing, math concepts, and more. Plus, they’re already differentiated, so you can meet each student right where they are.

Extra Tools That Make Teaching Easier

Your download also includes a visual curriculum map with a full month of day-by-day plans, 10 vocabulary word posters (with both real photo and clip art versions), adapted books, schedule cards, and leveled Wh- question sets with visual answer choices. Digital activities and Boom Cards are included, too—making this unit flexible for use in the classroom or at home.
