5 Tips for Organizing Made For Me Curriculum

Today’s guest blogger, Taylor McFerren, is a Kindergarten and 1st grade ESE teacher in Tampa, FL. Taylor graduated from the University of South Florida and has taught for two years.

Hey y’‘all! I am Taylor from @rainbowsinsped, and I am here to talk about how I organize the Made for Me Literacy curriculum! I am currently usee IRIS photo and craft keeper boxes as monthly bins for each month’s books, printables, file folders, etc.

  • In the front are all of my file folder games, stored with a binder clip so they all stay together!

  • In the middle, I have file folders that hold the visuals, author, illustrator and sequence cards, as well as the comprehension checks for each book.

I printed and laminated all the questions (field of 2, field of 3 and yes/no) so that we can assess as a whole group, and then we can assess individually as needed.

  • In the back I have the anchor chart materials, the writing originals, recipes, vocabulary and the skills table of contents so that I can grab and make copies when I need them!

  • The task boxes are a little different. They are stored in a rainbow photo keeper and they will stay in a separate space until that month rolls around again!Kindergarten and 1st grade ESE teacher's Made For Me Literacy Growing Bundle Task Boxes for the year stored in clear boxes on a shelf
  • For the anchor charts, I use a tension rod and large binder rings in order to keep the anchor charts from being crumbled.
They are stored in my closet, while punched and hung around the rings with monthly labels on them so that I just need to take down a binder ring each month, and that will keep them from being crumpled!

If you have any questions on how to organize, need some tips or have any feedback I would love to hear from you!! Thank you guys for reading and happy organizing!
